Hi there! 

I’m a Registered Psychotherapist with +9 years of clinical experience, a professional member of the College of Psychotherapists of Ontario and the International Society for Emotion-Focused Therapy (ISEFT). 

Additionally, I obtained my Bachelor in Psychology Specialist with Distinction from the University of Toronto and a Masters in Counselling Psychology from the University of Western Ontario.

Clinical Expertise:

I have always been interested in human relationships and their impact on our self-development. So my clinical and research work has focused on supporting individuals overcome difficulties in their relationships. 

I also help individuals overcome relational trauma in their family of origin and past romantic relationship.  As well, to improve their self-esteem, self-worth and build healthier connections.

My previous professional and clinical experiences include working at various reputable organizations, including the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH), St. Michael’s Hospital, and York University.

 

In addition, my master’s research focused on developing a culturally-appropriate therapy approach for Aboriginal couples who have experienced Intimate Partner Violence. I have shared my clinical expertise as a relationship therapist in major media outlets, including Cosmopolitan, Bustle, PsychCentral and Askmen magazine.

Therapy Approach

I use Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), an evidence-based approach to help my clients achieve lasting results. This approach will help clients get the most out of their counselling sessions. I have completed Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT Level 1) at York University Psychology Clinic and Emotion-Focused Couples Therapy (EFT-C) at the Southern California Institute of Emotion-Focused Therapy. 

I provide a safe space where you can be yourself and feel heard and understood. Within the safety of our relationship, we will revisit the issues keeping you stuck and distressed. I will use my clinical knowledge to support you in overcoming relationship and self-esteem difficulties.

Culturally-Responsive Therapy

As an immigrant from Iran to Canada in my teenage years, I have personally experienced the challenges of integrating into a new culture with different norms and values. I understand how our cultural background, family norms and values shape our identity and impact our emotional well-being.

As a therapist of colour, I bring a unique perspective and understanding of the cultural pressures that individuals from Asian and Middle Eastern cultures face. With extensive experience working with clients from South Asian, East Asian and Middle Eastern backgrounds, I am committed to providing culturally-responsive therapy that is tailored to your unique needs.
